IEM serves Haiti and the Caribbean carrying out Evangelism, Church Planting and Community Aid & Development. IEM’s mission is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, train pastors and raise up local congregations and to help to empower the impoverished and oppressed people of the Caribbean to reach their full God-given potential that they may impact their own communities. IEM utilizes sailboats to bring aid and supplies directly to the Haitian people. Due to the use of our ministry boat and help of our other network partners in the sailing community we are able to get donations and supplies directly to the people of the islands, bypassing some of the particular challenges that plague other ministries.
Pastor Raymond Bideaux and his wife have served Haiti and the Caribbean for nearly 30 years. Under Pastor Raymond’s leadership numerous local pastors have been raised up and over 50 churches have been established and now minister to the spiritual and physical needs of thousands throughout Haiti. We have a vision to continue this work of evangelizing throughout the Caribbean to include Jamaica and Cuba.
Our current work centers in the village of Sou Lettre off the South Coast of Haiti. We are in process of building what will be the largest church on the island of Ile A Vache. Once completed the church building will serve as a place of worship, a school for the village children, and a community center. The building will allow the village to host medical and humanitarian teams, and it will be a hub for supplies and aid. This building will also be the center of our evangelistic camp from which we will launch our gospel crusades throughout the Caribbean. We are also working with network partners like Soul of Haiti and Friends of Ile a Vache to create fishponds, establish chicken production, develop agricultural resources and assist with reforestation. We also work with a network partner to help with business training and development.

IEM has discipled many pastors and believers over the course of almost 30 years. In Sou Lettre IEM has discipled a local pastor, Venel Sainvil. Pastor Sainvil is a man of great character, full of wisdom and the Holy Spirit. He is shepherding the church in Sou Lettre and serves as our liason and overseer for the mission projects and property. He can constantly be found ministering to the locals both physically and spiritually. The Lord has blessed him with a humble and compassionate spirit. He is a true treasure and we are blessed to have him on our team.

In Sou Lettre and the surrounding villages, it is a daily struggle to obtain fresh water. The church building will be outfitted with a gutter and cistern system to collect rainwater for the villagers. This will serve a great need in the daily life of the community. As you can imagine it is even more difficult for us, the foreign missionaries, who can’t drink the local water. One of our greatest needs at this time is a shipboard water-maker (desalinator). The Katadyn 40 E Watermaker works off generator power as well as 12 volt power giving us an essential water supply in every situation.

Here Are Some of Our Current Goals and Needs
- Our current fund raising goal is $35,000. This will move us toward finishing the church structure which still needs floor, interior finishing, water collection system, and basic solar power and a generator.
- We have a desperate need of a Katadyn 80E Watermaker which costs $5,000.
- We are also praying for two small motorbikes ($700 each) to travel across the mountainous terrain around the island.
- Another need in traveling the 7mile bay to the mainland for supplies is a 25hp outboard boat motor.
We would like to ask you to prayerfully consider making a one-time donation or becoming a monthly supporter.
